Gimme More Music

Cook is gearing up to release new music! Yes! I would say “finally” like us Cook fans have said in the past but it really hasn’t been the long since the late in the year 2015 Digital Vein release. If you haven’t seen, Cook released a little video on teasing new music this year (Check out the video below). Accompanying the video is some different sounding music. Am I the only one that felt a familiar feeling to that of the picture on David Cook’s Instagram page of him blurry on the digital view finder with the caption “Gettin’ weird.” I don’t know that’s just where my mind went immediately. The first single is “Gimme Heartbreak”. Sounds more to the vein of “Laying Me Low”. The more tongue and cheek sounding music we got off of the Digital Vein album then we got on his first few albums. Even with just the slight usage of the word “gimme” instead of “give me”. Personally I’m alright with this sound, especially if Cook himself is feeling better about this sound right now. This most likely means this is the area in music where he is feeling most creative right now, and that makes me excited. And even on DV where he had more tongue and cheek moments like “Laying Me Low”, “Kiss and Tell” or even “Criminals” to an extent, he still had some meaningful moments on the record like “Home Movies (Over Your Shoulder)”, “Heartbeat” and “I’m Gonna Love You”. At the end of the video do we here faint, maybe distorted vocals by Cook? I’m not sure I just thought I’d point it out. Also at the end of the video we see a logo. I’ve been trying to figure out what this looks like for a while. At first I thought it was the initials of the new album name. But then I thought it may be an updated logo for Analog Heart Music. But that doesn’t seem to be the case because I don’t really see an H, but there is an obvious sideways A. So now I’m back to it being the initials for the new album. So what could the name be? Any suggestions? Leave them below. I would love to see what you think. Also let me know any other details you picked up on, is there anything else I’ve completely missed?

I’m so excited to hear some new music from David Cook.
